An independent artist, she is a sought-after singer in her hometown of Winnipeg. Her interpretations and lyrical style are deeply influenced by the vitality of her Italian ancestral heritage. She began performing in the Italian language at a young age and went on to study voice and performance and the modern Italian language through the University of Manitoba. 

In October of 2018 her original song(Ritmo Misto) “Quest’ Azzurro Maggio” won and international search for original pirces of artists of Italian heritage and with this she was selected to perform and compete against 9 other International and Italian atists at the Festa Della Musica Italiana in New York. Her highlight was being honored with a score of 8/10 by Cesare Rascael accomplished musician and producer and the son of  Renato Raescel the reknowned author and performer of “Arrivederci Roma”. She has sung with her local ensemble as lead act for numerous international artists at the Winnipeg Playhouse, Walker/Burton Cummings Theater and Manitoba Theater Center and continues to perform at numerous cultural and multicultural events throughout the country. In particular, she opened for international artists, Gigliola Cinquetti and shared the stage with greats such as Tony Astarita and Ron Payley Band. She has been hugely sought after as a lead singer with her performances and continues with the ensembles: Amici (Italian and English popular music), Wreckin’ So (southern Country Rock), The Carmine La Rosa Band, R & R Band (rock and country), Ritmo Misto, Tek-9 (contemporary folk and Retro/dance) as well as Salsasoprano 10 piece Salsa / Latin Dance Band . Maria was a lead performer for many years, in the Winnipeg Folklorama (Italian Pavilion) as a soloist and actress. She has produced numerous musical acts for local and national stage performances. She also recorded several regularly broadcast radio commercials with talented musician and humanitarian devotee Peter Brown of Davinci Records. She is currently recording a World Music / Bossa Nova CD of Italian, Brazilian, Spanish and English selections with the genre’s most inspired and talented musicians. She has participated as a singer in countless fundraising and Festival events, all over the country, performing Italian classics, Neapolitan songs, popular dance music, Jazz and anything else that has a beating heart.
